Great Man Made River (GMMR) - "Великая Рукотворная Река" в Ливии - Das 8. Weltwunder - لــنهر الصــناعي العظـــيم
The Infrastructure / Operation - The Great Man Made River (GMMR)
Operation
The primary operational objective is to ensure that inflows to the
system match outflows from the system as closely as possible at all
times.
Under normal conditions the inflow to the system will be determined
by agreed quotas based on the forecast requirements registered by
the users. The inflow from the well fields into the system can be
varied on the basis on the number of well pumps which are brought
into operation.

Control
The control rooms at the various OS&M's are the hub of all
information relating to the Great Man-Made River project. They can
access information about the minutest details of the system, from
flow rates to the position of valve. From their station operators
can identify components requiring maintenance, and operate
wellfields and valve remotly.
Support
Further more the pipe are monitored using state of the
electromagnetic and acoustic technologies.
